On October 11, the storm finally hit the town as David Madsen rescues Max. Jefferson, who turned out to be the true antagonist of the game. Soon after discovering her corpse, Chloe is shot in the head and she is kidnapped by her photography teacher, Mr.
Eventually, Max finds out the truth behind Rachel's disappearance she had been kidnapped and killed through a drug overdose.
Over the course of 5 days, the two rekindle their relationship as they uncover the disappearance of Rachel Amber, alongside the incoming tornado approaching the town. It is here Max discovers she has time-traveling powers, with which she uses them to save Chloe who was originally murdered by a fellow student. In 2013, Max is now a senior in high school moving back to Arcadia Bay in order to study at the prestigious art school, Blackwell Academy. To make matters worse, Max and her parents were moving to Seattle, leaving behind Chloe and eventually becoming estranged with her. However, that all changed during 2008 when Chloe's father had been caught in a fatal traffic accident. During her childhood, she was best friends with a fellow resident by the name of Chloe Price with whom she spent most of her time with. Max was originally born and raised in the fictional Oregonian town of Arcadia Bay.
